The Gift of You

I didn't give you the gift of life, but in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so.
For us to have each other is like a dream come true!
No, I didn't give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.

About Us

About Us
Hello! We are Bob and Trish Akers from Indiana. We are in the process of adopting a daughter, Emmaline Catherine, from China. We have a log in date of December 8, 2005, and are hoping to get our "referral" in November 2007. It's been a long journey, but we are so excited to be this close! ****************************************************************** Update: We have obviously adopted our daughter, so this is now the Akers Family website. We will periodically be posting pictures of our family and newest adventures.

More Paperwork...

We just filled out in advance the paperwork which will make the adoption official. We go to the civil affairs office at 2 p.m. to turn in the paperwork and get our family picture taken and footprints of Emmaline. We can't get over how content Emmaline is. We were expecting a lot of crying, but nothing. She's perfect. I've included a few more pictures, including one of Iza, Emma's friends from the same orphanage. We have become quite close with Iza's family and hope to continue our friendship for years to come!

Hey again, it's us. Andy sat down to look at the website with me and made the comment, "look at that smile on Bob." Yes...the whole thing is just amazing and now you know why it took sooooo long.

Can't wait to get my hands on her:) Of course, I will wait my turn because I know there are so many people that love her and want to hold her.

Tricia, Emmaline is absolutely precious, a beautiful gift from heaven.

From Julie's comments, you can see that your cousins are following your journey and are with you in spirit. Can't wait to be with you in person!

Love and Kisses from Chicago,

Di
