Today is the third day that we've had Emmaline. The Chinese coordinator said a lot of times babies have a smooth transition initially because they are getting lots of attention, but the true test is about day three. So, we'll see if everything continues to be smooth sailing. So far, so good. She woke up once last night for her 12:30am feeding, but went right back down and slept until about 6am. She continues to be the happiest baby.
We don't have a lot of official business to do today, so we're going to do some sightseeing. It's pretty mild weather, but we have to dress poor Emmaline in three layers of clothing and a parka so that the Chinese grandma police don't accost us. One of the couples in our group got confronted yesterday and I think it shook them up a bit. It is their custom that babies are not to have any skin exposed, no matter the temperature. I'm not so sure I would have been as patient and understanding with them (I know you all find that shocking).
We miss our boys so much and cannot wait to be home with them. It is going to be a different Christmas for us this year, but we know they are well taken care of by family. We love you Jacob and Jackson!!
